First Impressions ~ Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation & Concealer

So Makeup Maniacs, I was at it again!  In my search to find the best liquid foundation, I purchased a "high end" foundation (and I just HAD to buy the concealer too).
This time it was Estee Lauder's Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation in Desert Beige and the Double Wear Concealer in Light Medium.  Both were purchased from Sephora.com.

Prior to my purchase, I heard great things about this foundation.  I heard it was long-lasting, gave medium to full coverage, and was good for oily skin.

Today was my first time using it.  I had it on for over 8 hours.  I am honestly not sure what would make this foundation better than my Revlon ColorStay foundation.  The Revlon one is better in my opinion.  After a couple of hours of wearing the Estee Lauder Double Wear, I could see oil shining through on my forehead and cheeks. Mind you, I did not buy the line's powder for setting my liquid foundation, but I used one that has been working great with other foundations.  It's e.l.f.'s High Definition Powder and it's pretty awesome - especially considering the inexpensive price!

Anywhoo - my first impression of this foundation is not a good one.  What's the purpose of spending $37 on something that's gonna slide off your face in a couple of hours.  I will give this foundation 2 more tries before I take it back to the store, but for now I am not "wowed" at all.  On my 5 star scale, with 5 being the best score and 1 being the worst score, I give this foundation 2 stars for now.  I do like the way it feels on the skin - it's not heavy.  And it does go on smooth.  However, the lasting power for my oily skin's needs is just not there.

The concealer is OK.  But for $24 it should have worked a miracle, LOL.  It didn't settle into my fine lines the way other concealers tend to do.  And it covered my dark areas fairly well.  I give this concealer a higher score of 3 stars.  It did not "wow" me, but the fact that it did not settle into my lines, and did not crease was HUGE.
So, I hope you all enjoyed this first impression. If you have had different experiences with these products, please let me know in the comments section.
