What's up makeup maniacs?!! Unfortunately, Hubby and I rarely get to have date nights. Since we are a "blended" family (you know like the Brady Bunch), we usually have somebody's kids in the house. But when we do have an evening to ourselves, we like to do it up big - dinner, dancing, and having a blast. I usually get dressed to the nines, flat iron my hair, and wear a dramatic eye look with red lipstick. YEAH BABY!
So, I wanted to share my "go to" date night look with you all ~ just because :-P
Basically, I like to do simple lids with black liner on the top and bottom lash lines, as well as, black liner in the inner rims. Lining my eyes like this gives them a dramatic, yet classy look. I then throw on some mascara, bronzer, blush, and red lipstick and I'm OUT THE DOOR!
After washing my face, I start out with a primer like Benefit's Porefessional. This is probably the best makeup primer that I have tried. It fills in the large pores on my cheeks and then my face becomes the perfect canvas for foundation.
Speaking of foundation... I use Bare Minerals Pure Brightening Serum Foundation in "Bare Beige". It is a medium coverage foundation that seems very thin when you begin applying, but once it oxidizes, it does a great job of making skin tones look smooth & even. I follow that up with Cover Girl's Professional Loose Powder in "Translucent Medium" (115). This powder helps set the liquid foundation.
After that, your girl hooks up her brows with the usual Anastasia Beverly Hills brow products.
Following the brows, I apply a little eye shadow. I use light colors so that the attention will be on the way my eyes are lined. I like to use Stila's famous "Kitten" eye shadow on the entire lid and then add a little of Milani's "Bella Ivory" to my brow bone and tear duct.
I can't forget to line the upper and lower lash line, as well as, the bottom water line with Loreal's Silkissime eyeliner in "Black".
A new mascara like Urban Decay's Perversion Mascara in "Triple Black" is a good way to top this eye look off after some curling of the lashes. It doesn't clump and has great staying power!
For bronzing and cheeks, I use Pixi's Bronze Sculpt Trio "Sunshine Sculpt". This is a great 3-in-1 face palette that can be used for contouring, bronzing, and highlighting the face. And that's exactly what I do with it.
For lips, I use NYC's City Duet 2-in-1 Lip Color in "Red Hots". This lipstick is so cool because you can create an ombre looking lip because of the two colors that are included. I use the darker red color on the bottom lip to slim it down, because it's a lot larger than my top one. And then the lighter, pinker red shade gets swiped on the top lip. Niiice!
A few spritzes of Urban Decay's De-Slick makeup setting spray and Hubby & I are out the door and ready to paint the town red!
I hope you enjoyed this blog post and let me know (in the comments section below) what look you like to sport when you go on a date.
