How are all my makeup maniacs doing today? I'm doing fine, for someone that does't like "loud" eye shadow. However, I have certainly been wearing my share. I had this outfit in mind for today, so I decided to coordinate my eye makeup.
After much primping and blending (and praying, LOL), I think the end result was pretty good (for an amateur).
Face prep is important if you want your makeup to last. So after washing my face with my Oil of Olay Refreshing Citrus Scrub Cleanser, I put on a little Oil of Olay Total Effects " 7 -in-One Anti-Aging Fragrance Free Moisturizer with SPF 15". The sun is always out in Florida, so sunscreen is a must!
As that sunscreen soaked into my skin, I brightened up my eye area with some First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy. This is an amazing product that brightens and slightly conceals the darkness around my eye, particularly the corners near the tear ducts. I applied it in a C- shape and used the metal applicator to smooth it around a bit. Then, I used my ring finger to pat the rest in. I'm telling you this stuff is AWESOME!
Since my moisturizer set, I slathered on a little Loreal Miracle Blur as a face primer. This keeps my foundation from settling into my pores and fine lines. It also keeps the foundation from and moving around during the day. As far as foundation goes, today I used Bare Minerals "Bare Skin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation" in #08 (Bare Beige). (Is it me or are all of these names super- LONG?) After the liquid foundation, I set it with Bare Minerals "Mineral Veil".
I then concealed with a little Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Bisque. This was only my second time using this, but (unfortunately) I am not liking this concealer. It settles into the fine lines around my eyes and seems to make the darkness look worse. It has great reviews, but this makeup maniac is not feeling it! So much for expensive concealers, I'll just stick to using my NYC concealer - HELLO!
Anywhoo, moving on...
It was then time for brows! You know the drill - Anastasia's Beauty Express kit & the Brow Wiz for my CRAZY brows...
Then it was time for the eyes. I used several Milani Bella Eyes Eye Shadows for my look, but I did prime my lid with Bare Minerals 5-in-1 Cream Eye Shadow in "Barely Nude". It worked great as a base coat and a primer. Definitely a "must have" if you are looking for cream eye shadows with staying power. Bella Ivory was put on the brow bone, Bella Cafe was swiped in the crease, Bella Espresso was used to accent the crease, Bella Navy was put on the lid, and Bella Gold was put on the inner corner of the eyes and inner lid area. A little bit of that Bella Espresso and Bella Gold were used on the lower lash line to pull the eye together.
I then put some Loreal Silkissimme in "Cobalt Blue" on the top eyelid and winged it out a bit. I also lined my upper and lower water lines with Loreal Silkissimme eyeliner in "Black". After curling the lashes and adding 2 coats of Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara, I was finally done, LOL.
No lie, this look took me a while to complete because of the amount of eye shadows involved.
