Well, summer will be over before you know it. So I figured I should at least give you all a tutorial for a simple daytime look.
Keep in mind that I use an IPhone 4S for pictures and I definitely don't have the best lighting in my home. Eventually, I'd like to invest in a good camera and some great lighting. If you have any suggestions for me, please comment below by pressing Read More or the little spot near the title of this blog (it looks like a decoration).
This look is meant to be quick and easy. It shouldn't take more than 20 minutes. I used The Balm's Rockstar Palette called "Balm Jovi". This palette is so cool because the names of the eyeshadows are named after rock bands. It has an illuminizer, blush, and a separate compartment for 2 lip/cheek stains that are affectionately named Milly and Vanilli. How cute is that? So, basically, this palette contains all that you need to get anything from a neutral look to a wild & crazy look.
After I washed my face, I applied Vaseline Lip Therapy Cocoa Butter to my lips. This stuff works really well to soften and prime the lips before lipstick application.
Since this is a simple, summery look I decided to use a BB Cream instead of a regular foundation. The BB Cream has sunscreen and a light coverage finish. No primer necessary. The Tarte BB Cream I used is great. I applied some on my face and neck and then used a Real Techniques stippling brush to even out the color. I did not set the BB Cream with powder in order to keep that dewy, summery finish.
After the BB Cream, I concealed my under eye area, and highlighted my forehead, as well as, my cupid's bow with Physician's Formula's "Touch of Glow" highlighter pen.
Now for the brows. Remember, my cray cray brows are forever a work in progress, LOL! I used Anastasia's Beauty Express for Brows and Eyes. This product gives you all you need, including stencils, to achieve awesome looking eyebrows.
Then, I started on the eyes. I packed " Third Eye Blinded" (a light, pinky-peach color with minimal sparkle) from the Balm Jovi palette, all over the lid. After that, I used "Alice Cooper" (a metallic, maroonish-purple color) on the crease and lower lash line.
The "Solid Gold Illuminizer" was used on my browbone and inner corners/tear ducts of my eyes. After some blending, curling my lashes, and applying 2 coats of mascara, the eyes were done.
The apples of my cheeks were swiped with a peach-colored blush called, "Don't You Want Me?" (Those people at The Balm are hilarious). I then used my finger to pat some "Milly" (light pink lip/cheek stain) unto my lips.
The end result...
